Bell407是一款主旋翼为4片桨叶、单发涡轮轴的轻型民用直升机，主要用来替代Bell206L4“远程突击队员”直升机。 Bell407采用全复合材料打造的4片主旋翼系统，其结构与美国军方使用的OH-58D类似。Bell407广泛应用于商务飞行、海上飞 行、应急救援、警务飞行、新闻采访、航拍等。

>技术特点

· 贝尔407直升机可实施垂直起落，左右横行、前进及倒退，并能在空中悬停和定点转弯等，因为其具有机身小、飞行灵活的特点，所以适合执行公务、医疗急救、抢险救灾、海洋作业、航拍等。

· 贝尔-407采用HTS-900新涡轴发动机，功率为680千瓦，发动机总重量增加到2.56吨。燃油装在两个互连的抗坠毁软油箱中，加辅助油箱，载油量比oh-58d有较大增加。它采用低噪声巡航系统，利用全权数字发动机控制系统把旋翼转速降低为巡航转速的90%~93%，从而降低了arh的通场噪声。

· 旋翼系统采用全复合材料4桨叶旋翼系统，其结构与OH-58D的类似，两片桨叶尾桨。机身与贝尔-206L-4“远程突击队员”的机身相似，但座舱增宽了0.178m，座舱窗户面积也增大了35%。采用碳纤维尾梁，座舱门窗是平板式的

· 贝尔-407采用单旋翼带尾桨布局，采用经过改进的OH-58D的4片桨叶旋翼、尾桨和减速器系统。机体防护有所改善。前机身包括驾驶舱和座舱，空间不拥挤，改善了乘坐舒适性。机身两侧舷窗面积比原型机增加了35%，安装特殊玻璃，增加了舱内采光，扩大了驾驶员和乘员视野。

>运行历史

· Bell  made  delivery  of  the  first  producIon  407  at  Heli-­‐Expo,  in  Dallas,  Texas  in  February  1996.  Launch  customers  for  the  aircraT  were  Petroleum Helicopters,  Niagara  Helicopters,  and  Greenland  Air.

· On  23  May  2007,  Colin  Bodill  and  Jennifer  Murray  completed  a  record  pole-­‐to-­‐pole  around  the  world  flight  uIlizing  a  standard  Bell  407.  The flight  originated  from  Bell's  facility  at  the  Fort  Worth  Alliance  Airport  on  December  5,  2006.  The  team  flew  about  36,000  miles  (58,000  km)  over 189  days  and  300  flight  hours,  through  34  different  countries.  The  project,  named  Polar  First,  was  performed  in  partnership  with  the  Royal Geographical  Society  to  provide  educaIonal  outreach  to  28  internaIonal  schools,  which were  visited  during  the  trip.  The  project  also  served  as  a fundraiser  for  the  SOS  Children's  Villages.

· In  2009  the  Iraqi  Air  Force  ordered  three  Bell  407  armed  scout  helicopters  (similar  to  the  canceled  ARH-­‐70).[14]  A  contract  for  24  addiIonal  Bell 407s  with  an  opIon  for  26  more  was  awarded  in  April  of  that  same  year.[15]  The  U.S.  Army  is  managing  modificaIons  and  installaIon  of  military equipment  on  the  helicopters.[16]  Three  training  T-­‐407s  were  delivered  to  the  Iraqi  Army  in  2010.  Armed  IA-­‐407s  were  delivered  in  eight batches  of  three  aircraT  from  August  2012  to  April  2013.  The  final  Bell  407  for  Iraq  was  delivered  on  3  April  2013.[17]  There  are  30  in  service;  24 armed  scouts,  3  gunships,  and  3  trainers.

· Iraq  is  using  the  IA-­‐407  in  operaIons  against  Islamic  State  militants.  On  8  October  2014,  militants  shot  down  an  IA-­‐407  using  a  shoulder-­‐fired ground-­‐to-­‐air  missile,  killing  the  pilot  and  co-­‐pilot.
